Citizenship
We seek profits for a purpose, and will deploy resources to best achieve our mission in the wider community.
SolarAid
When Solarcentury was founded we committed to contributing a percentage of our profits to SolarAid - a charity we set up to help the developing world. The year ending 2006 was the first to register profits. However, with the support of our shareholders we intend to invest heavily in research and development and overseas expansion and expect to record losses in the near future.
We have, in the past, sent staff on sabbatical to share skills and knowledge via Solar Aid to help deploy solar in the developing world.
Local community
This year we have also helped children and young adults learn about renewable energy. We have participated in events at Roots and Shoots, Peacehanven Community Schools and the RCA.
