Solarcentury in Northern Ireland

C21e tiles installed on BIH's Owenvale Court development.

From April 2008, all new build Housing Association developments in Northern Ireland are required to meet Level 3 of the Code For Sustainable Homes. The code replaces Eco-homes, and requires a 25% improvement in building performance compared with Part F (Conservation of Fuel & Power) of the Northern Ireland Building Regulation, November 2006.

Solarcentury has a Northern Ireland office that can provide initial project assessment and practical advice on how solar photovoltaic and solar thermal technologies can help in attaining the Code For Sustainable Homes levels 3-6. We have developed a range of least-cost solutions that make specification of solar fast and simple. We can also offer briefing seminars to designers and Housing Associations wishing to learn more about the options for meeting the Code For Sustainable Homes.

Our C21e solar electric roof slate was used on Northern Ireland's first, and to date only, zero-carbon house (Level 6 of the Code For Sustainable Homes).

We can offer the same support and services to design teams in Scotland, in response to the emerging SPP6 planning policy.
