Get paid to help reduce climate change!
If you own a property in France, you can make money and go green – by installing solar photovoltaics (PV) on your roof! The French Government wants to reward you for generating your own electricity (unlike some governments we could mention…). by paying you a generous tariff for every unit of electricity you generate via solar technology.
And – if you pay tax in France – you receive a substantial tax rebate too!
How does it work?
Put simply, you replace all or part of a southerly-facing roof with a solar photovoltaic installation. The solar photovoltaics (or PV) generate electricity, which is fed into the French grid. You are paid 58 Euro cents for each unit of electricity you generate. The larger your installation, the more you sell to the grid. The tariff you are paid is guaranteed for twenty years and will go up by with inflation every year.

For those of you who are French tax payers, there is a tax rebate of up to €8,000.
*This is purely illustrative; installations can be larger or smaller and can cost more or less depending on the roof. We have assumed use of Solarcentury’s C21e solar tile or slate systems and have assumed a 2.5kWp system. The cost includes VAT which will be charged at 5.5%.
**The level of irradiance changes according to where you are in the country, affecting units generated.

Why the roof?
The French tariff favours aesthetic integration of solar into the community. You therefore only receive the high tariff if the technology you use is built into the roof.
