* Choice of products: We are not tied to any one manufacturer and are free to offer our clients the most appropriate technology for their needs. We keep up to date with the ever-expanding International range of products and technologies. We regularly visit leading manufacturers and assess their facilities and technologies, putting the best solutions forward for our strict product approval process. As one technology supercedes another so our product range changes.
* Product approval: Our product approval process looks not only at the technology but also at commercial, legal, environmental and supply concerns. Amongst other things we make sure that the product is value for money, meets all relevant safety and building standards, has suitable warranty and liability cover and that the manufacturer is a viable and reliable business. We want to be sure that our customers have a safe product they can rely on for years to come.
* Effectiveness of products: Most products are rated according to their performance in test conditions, though it is well known that different types of renewable energy technologies perform differently depending on their environment. At Solarcentury we make sure that we understand these differences, even carrying out our own tests. We use this knowledge to ensure that we give realistic forecasts of energy generation to all our customers. We invest our own profits to ensure that new products are fit for their purpose, complying with fire regulations for example.
* Cost effective solutions: Our prices are amongst the most competitive in the industry. In addition to a fair price, our customers receive good and reliable warranties and other support, such as help securing government funding and promoting their installation to maximise the value of their investment.
* Well engineered solutions: We take pride in our work and have a reputation for delivering quality installations. As part of the government funding programme a random selection of our installations are assessed by engineering consultants Halcrow on behalf of the Energy Savings Trust who acknowledge that we have "performed extremely well".
* New Product Development: If the international marketplace cannot deliver a quality, cost effective solution for our clients we apply our expertise to developing one. We have developed a variety of solutions for particular clients including a rain screen cladding product, solar louvres, solar motorway barriers, roof hooks and the worlds first fully compatible solar electric (PV) and solar thermal integrated roof tiles.
